Residents of Ledzokuku in the Greater Accra Region have voiced their frustration over the deteriorating road infrastructure in the constituency.

They report that the poor road conditions have significantly disrupted transportation, increased vehicle maintenance costs, and created serious safety risks for both motorists and pedestrians.

In an interview with Philip Nii Lartey on Channel One TV’s The Constituency, residents expressed disappointment with local authorities for neglecting their repeated appeals for road repairs.

Many roads in the area are reported to be filled with potholes and become impassable during the rainy season.

When asked if these road issues would influence their voting decisions in the upcoming elections, residents had mixed responses.

Some indicated that their votes would be swayed by the extent of completed developmental projects, while others felt that improving road infrastructure is a fundamental responsibility of the government and should not affect their voting choices.

Taxi driver Francis Atittey remarked, “Our roads are not good. From Bush roads to Tebibiano is very rough. We have prominent figures in this area, including the Chief of Defense Staff and Dr. Mensa Otabil, so we need better roads.”

Richard Ayittey, Chairman of the Lascala Taxi Rank, added, “The inner roads in Teshie-Ledzokuku are very bad. Though we have complained, there has been little response until recently when some work started.

For instance, the road from Abotsanya to Twibleo was in terrible condition, but work is now underway to address it.”

Vitus Fianu, another taxi driver, also shared his concerns: “The road conditions are not just bad, they are terrible. When asked why repairs aren’t being made, officials fail to provide a clear explanation.”
