An Accra High Court will hear the defamation case filed by actress Martha Ankomah against Kumawood actor Kwadwo Nkansah, known as Lil Win, on July 31.

This follows the completion of the Case Management Conference on July 25, overseen by Justice Forson Agyapong Baah.

The judge has directed that Lil Win be informed of the hearing and the court’s notes through the usual channels, as he was absent from the previous session and lacked legal representation.

Martha Ankomah filed the lawsuit on February 14, claiming that Lil Win made derogatory remarks about her. She alleges that Lil Win falsely accused her of belittling Kumawood actors and refusing to work with them due to their perceived low-quality storylines.

In her lawsuit, Ankomah is seeking several forms of relief, including:

  • GH₵5 million in damages for defamation.
  • Compensatory damages for harm to her reputation.
  • Aggravated damages for the malicious nature of the statements.
  • An apology and retraction of the defamatory statements.
  • An injunction to prevent Lil Win from making further defamatory remarks.

The actress has filed a defamation suit against Lil Win over what she calls disparaging comments about her character.

Martha Ankomah is seeking GH₵5 million in damages from Lil Win for the defamatory statements.
