The Electoral Commission (EC) has announced a mop-up voter registration exercise scheduled from August 1 to August 3, 2024.

This initiative aims to allow individuals who missed the earlier registration period or who have turned 18 since then to register to vote.

Following the mop-up registration, a voter exhibition will take place from August 20 to August 27.

Jean Mensa, Chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC), announced during a debriefing led by Inspector General of Police Dr. George Akuffo Dampare to the EC on the Election Security Taskforce’s performance in the first half of the year.

She clarified, “The mop-up voter registration exercise will take place from August 1 to 3, 2024.

This is intended to allow individuals who turned 18 after May 29 or those who have not yet registered the opportunity to be included on our voter register, ensuring eligibility for participation.”
