The Dormaa Traditional Area is poised for development, courtesy of a new initiative by its leader, Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Dr. Agyemang Badu II. In a recent address, the Omanhene announced his readiness to welcome mining companies into the region, provided they meet certain conditions.

He emphasized the importance of responsible and fair mineral extraction, highlighting the potential for significant economic growth.

Agyemang Badu II proposed a profit-sharing model, where companies would split their profits equally with the state, following the recovery of their initial investment.

This approach, he believes, will generate substantial revenue for the state, contributing to the development of Dormaa through royalty payments.

The Omanhene revealed that several companies have already accepted his proposal, making substantial payments to the Dormaa state.

He assured that the funds, currently deposited in a Commercial Bank account, will be publicly disclosed and utilized for the benefit of the people of Dormaa.

Agyemang Badu II expressed his commitment to ensuring the prosperity of his people, aiming to initiate development projects before the year’s end.

He even proposed a unique initiative, where every child born in Dormaa, regardless of their background, will receive a payment.

This vision aligns with his long-standing advocacy for fair mineral royalties, criticizing the current system as unfair to the state.
