The Lebanese embassy in Ghana has clarified an erroneous report identifying Lebanese Ambassador to Ghana H.E Mr Maher Kheir as Sunil Waghmare The Indian Guinness world record breaker.
Mr Maher Kheir on 28 December, 2023, Visited Akwaaba Village to show support to Ghanaian journalist and entrepreneur Afua Asantewaa Aduonum as she attempts the Guinness world record breaker for the world longest singing hours by an individual.
His presence were captured in pictures and videos as he offered support on behalf of the Lebanese community in Ghana
Some media outlet however ,misrepresented Mr Maher Kheir as Sunil Waghma
In a statement issued by the embassy,on Friday December 29,2023,The embassy said Ambassador Kheir’s participation was solely in support of Mrs. Afua Asantewaa O. Aduonum’s attempt to break the current record. The Lebanese Ambassador’s presence underscores the amicable relationship between Lebanon and Ghana, showcasing solidarity and support for Mrs. Aduonum’s remarkable endeavor.
According to the statement, His Excellency Mr. Maher Kheir extended warm congratulations to Mrs. Aduonum, acknowledging her dedication and perseverance in attempting to break the existing record. This gesture highlights the inspirational nature of Mrs. Aduonum’s feat and reinforces the importance of determination.
The Lebanese Embassy expressed gratitude to Ghanaian media outlets for their attention to this correction and emphasized their commitment to fostering the enduring bond between Lebanon and Ghana.
