John Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has stressed the importance of preventing recent disturbances in Kenya from happening in Ghana.
In recent days, Kenyans have staged widespread protests against tax hikes, demanding the resignation of President William Ruto.

Criticizing the Akufo-Addo administration for its perceived economic mismanagement, Mahama promised that the next NDC government would create numerous opportunities, especially for the youth.
During a working visit to the La Dadekotopon constituency on July 5, Mahama stated, “Africa’s population is youthful, and while this is important, it can become a time bomb if opportunities are not created for them.”
“We have all seen what is happening in Kenya, we don’t want that to happen in Ghana. And so, when we come, things are going to be different.
It’s not going to be business as usual; we want to be a government in a hurry to repair the mess created by Bawumia and Akufo-Addo.
“The people of Ghana are looking at NDC to come and rescue them from the hardships in which they have been plunged…We will do things that will turn the economy around as quickly as possible.”
