Kurt Okraku, President of the Ghana Football Association, has unveiled the association’s intention to offer a long-term contract to the forthcoming head coach of the Black Stars.

The announcement came during a press conference in Kumasi, where Okraku tackled concerns regarding Ghana’s underwhelming performance at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire.

Over the past four years, Kurt Okraku, as president of the GFA, has overseen the quest for the national team’s fifth head coach.

“When we find the new set of trainers, it is our collective decision to stay with them for a long haul and all our national teams”, he stated.

Following Ghana’s elimination from the competition, the GFA terminated Chris Hughton and his coaching team’s contracts, initiating the search for a new coach.

A five-person search committee was established by the GFA to streamline the process, with a three-week deadline imposed on them to secure a new coach.

Over 600 coaches have purportedly submitted applications for the position.
