The Nsawam-Accra-Tema railway line has been completed and is now operational- Finance Minister

Finance Minister Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam stated that the government’s commitment to developing an efficient railway network extends beyond transportation.

He emphasized that it aims to stimulate economic growth, create jobs, and improve connectivity across the nation.

During the mid-year budget review presented in Parliament on Tuesday, July 23, he noted, “The Nsawam-Accra-Tema railway line has been completed and is operational. The construction of the landmark Tema to Mpakadan railway line is 99 percent finished and is anticipated to be fully completed this year.”

He also mentioned that the construction of the Kojokrom-Manso section is expected to be finished by the end of 2024.

Additionally, the Manso-Huni Valley section, which will extend the railway line into the Takoradi Port, is projected to be completed by May 2026.

Dr. Amin Adam further highlighted the government’s commitment to enhancing road infrastructure throughout the country.

This effort includes the construction of new roads, as well as the upgrading and maintenance of existing ones. He noted that the rehabilitation and maintenance of road infrastructure across the country are at different stages of progress.
