President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has bemoaned the perception that most elected leaders are prone to corruption.
He noted that the belief among the Ghanaian citizens is worrying and he is calling on the Christian Council of Ghana to pray for the nation
He further made it known that this prayer has become necessary so that people with that understanding will still have some hope in elected leaders as not all leaders in position of authority is a thief.
According to a report, the President is quoted as saying that the Christian Council should pray for the understanding of the people since not everybody elected as a leader is a thief.
The President who made the call when he received the new Chairman of the Christian Council, Right Rev. Dr. Hilliad Della Dogbe and his delegation on a courtesy call on him at the Jubilee House
The President also reminded the people that there are anti-corruption institutions and agencies keeping the government in check,hence they should have confidence and hope in such institutions who are working tirelessly for the good of the people
Right Rev. Dogbe on his part pledged the readiness of the Christian community to pray for God’s guidance and protection of the nation.
