The President has revoked the appointment of Dr. Dickson as deputy national security coordinator

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has rescinded the appointment of Dr. Osei Bonsu Dickson (Esq) as Deputy National Security Coordinator. A letter signed by the Chief of Staff and addressed to Dr. Osei conveyed the President’s decision, citing further consultations and upcoming reforms within the National Security establishment.

The appointment, made just last week in a letter dated January 2, 2024, had initially generated enthusiasm and satisfaction within the national security community regarding President Akufo-Addo’s selection of the seasoned security operative and lawyer for the role.

Dr. Dickson boasts an extensive 25-year career in national security operations and legal affairs, holding various leadership positions within the Ministry of National Security Governance. These roles include Director for Legal, Director for Intelligence Analysis, and Director responsible for policy, planning, monitoring, and evaluation at the Ministry of National Security.

Additionally, Dr. Dickson has contributed his expertise to several organizations, serving on the boards of the Financial Intelligence Center (FIC), Africa Center for Strategic Studies, Expresso Telecom Group, and the Ghana Boundary Commission (GhBC), among others.
