Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Thomas Partey is fit to return to action this weekend after recovering from the illness that prevented him from participating in Ghana’s recent Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The midfielder was unable to travel for the Black Stars’ matches against Sudan and remained in London due to his condition.
Although Ghana hoped he could assess his health while traveling, Partey opted not to go, feeling “uncomfortable” with the trip at that time.
Now that he is fully recovered, Arteta stated, “Thomas Partey is fit and ready. We will decide today on the status of Gabriel Martinelli and Havertz, while Ben White, Timber, and Zinchenko are close, and we are hopeful for some positive news.”
Partey’s absence was felt during Ghana’s matches, as the team drew 0-0 with Sudan in Accra and then lost 2-0 in Libya, putting their AFCON 2025 qualification hopes at risk.
In his stead, Mohammed Kudus captained the side and later apologized on behalf of the team for their underwhelming performances during the October international break.
