McKeon, who had already bagged gold in the 4×100 freestyle relay and bronzes in the 100 butterfly and 4×200 relay, said having the gold medal around her neck was what she came for.

Fencing-Underdogs Japan beat South Korea to secure medal in men’s team epee
World number eight Japan secured an Olympic medal with victory over South Korea in the semifinals of the men’s team epee event on Friday, after the top four teams crashed out of the quarterfinals.
France, Italy, Ukraine, and Switzerland all failed to reach the semifinals, marking the first time since the Barcelona Olympics in 1992 when none of the top four secure a medal.
