One person has been confirmed dead following an accident near Kpong on the Akosombo-Accra Highway.
The incident occurred when a vehicle carrying a 15-member delegation from Ho to Saltpond had a tyre blowout.
The victims were members of the Ho Diocesan Catholic Women Association (CWA), en route to the 65th anniversary celebration of the Catholic Women Association in Saltpond, Central Region.
Several others were injured and have been admitted to hospitals in the Eastern and Volta Regions.
According to a source close to the Church, some of the injured have since been discharged.
