A 42-year-old travel consultant, Kenneth Kyere, has appeared before an Accra Circuit Court, accused of defrauding a nurse of GHC40,000.
Kyere allegedly collected this amount as part payment of GHC112,000 to secure a UK visa and work permit for the nurse, Charlotte Boakye Yiadom. After receiving the payment, Kyere reportedly cut off communication with Yiadom.

Charged with defrauding by false pretenses, Kyere has pleaded not guilty. The court, presided over by Mr. Isaac Addo, granted him bail of GHC120,000 with one surety. The case has been adjourned to September 9, 2024.
Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Seth Frimpong explained that Yiadom, a resident of Kumasi, was referred to Kyere by a friend’s husband, Darlington Ackom Nartey, for assistance in obtaining a UK work permit and visa.
Kyere, CEO of White Dove Travel and Tour, charged Yiadom GHC112,000 and collected GHC40,000, her passport, and other documents, promising to have the travel documents ready within eight weeks.
He failed to deliver and went into hiding, ignoring Yiadom’s attempts to contact him.
After a police report, Kyere was arrested. In his caution statement, he admitted to taking GHC40,000 and promised to refund it.
