Two people have reportedly died, and several others have sustained serious injuries in a bus crash on the Kumasi-Bawku route at Nangode in the Nabdam District of the Upper East Region.

The accident occurred in the early hours of Friday, August 23, 2024.
Reports indicate that the driver may have handed over control to his mate shortly before the crash.
The mate lost control when the bus hit a speed ramp, causing it to overturn. This resulted in the immediate death of two passengers and left many others injured.
Survivor Adam Iddrisu Emmanuel recounted, “This morning, we were traveling from Kumasi to Bawku.
When we reached this point, the driver applied the brakes, but the bus lost balance and hit the bridge.
We had boarded in Kumasi near Kejetia, and we were heading to Garu.”
