Two wheelchair tennis players from the Ghana Tennis Federation (GTF), Emmanuel Amobire and Henry Adjapong, have departed for the ITF International Wheelchair Tennis Juniors Tournament.

Accompanied by Coach Philip Plange, the duo left Kotoka International Airport in Accra on September 19, 2024, to compete in Ghana’s first ITF international wheelchair tennis tournament, which will take place in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Prior to the competition, they will participate in the ITF Johan Cryuff Africa Wheelchair Tennis Training Camp from September 20-22, alongside junior players from about 10 other African countries.
Following the camp, the 15-year-old players will compete in the Ithembelihle ITF Junior International Tournament scheduled for September 23-25, 2024, in Johannesburg.
This team aims to make history as the first Ghanaian wheelchair tennis pair to participate in an ITF international tournament.
They have received support from the ITF Wheelchair Tennis Department, the GTF Board, and the GTF Wheelchair Tennis Committee, as reported by Henry Larbi, the National Coordinator of GTF Wheelchair Tennis.
