Former US President Barack Obama has shared his annual summer playlist, featuring a mix of both global and local artists.

The playlist includes a variety of musicians, from viral hits by Tommy Richman and Paul Russell to classic songs by Bob Dylan and the Rolling Stones, showcasing the wide range of music Obama enjoys each year.
Among the chosen artists are Nigeria’s up-and-coming stars, Tems and Rema, who have earned spots on this popular playlist.
Tems’ soulful track “Love Me Jeje” from her debut album is featured, highlighting her emotional depth and captivating style.
Meanwhile, Rema’s hit single “Yayo” from his second album “Rave & Roses” (not “HEIS”) has also been included.
The song has garnered an impressive 60 million streams on Spotify and topped the charts in Greece.
Obama shared the playlist on his X handle, saying, “As summer winds down, I’m excited to share some of my recent favorite tunes – and, as always, I’ve curated an eclectic mix. I hope you discover something new to enjoy!”

Obama’s playlist also includes Charli XCX’s “365,” Beyoncé’s “Texas Hold ‘Em,” Tommy Richman’s “Million Dollar Baby,” “Wanna Be” by Glorilla & Megan Thee Stallion, Billie Eilish’s “CHIHIRO,” along with classics like 2Pac’s “How Do U Want It” featuring K-Ci & JoJo, and Bob Dylan’s “Silvio.”
In a recent interview with influencer Carter Gregory (thecarterb), Obama mentioned that his daughters, Sasha and Malia, play a big part in keeping his music choices up-to-date and expanding his musical tastes.
“I get referrals from my daughters — which keeps me not stuck in the ’80s,” the former president shared with Mr. Gregory.
