The University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) has announced the postponement of the investiture ceremony for its incoming Vice-Chancellor, Professor John Kwaku Mensah Mawutor.
The ceremony, which was originally set for Friday, December 27, 2024, has been rescheduled, with a new date yet to be announced.

An official statement from the university’s registrar confirmed the postponement, informing the public that the event would no longer take place on the previously scheduled date.
“A new date for the investiture ceremony will be communicated in due course. We regret any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding,” part of the statement read.
While reasons were not provided for the postponement in the official statement, recent developments suggest potential legal challenges surrounding the investiture as an alumnus of UPSA, Rashid Ibrahim, reportedly filed a court injunction seeking to halt the ceremony following allegations surrounding Professor Mawutor’s academic promotion.
