John Dramani Mahama, flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has insisted that Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia cannot exonerate himself from the current economic situation in Ghana.

Mr. Mahama stated that every member of the Akufo-Addo administration must be held accountable for the current state of the country’s economy.

According to him, all those who contributed to the country’s current challenges are now trying to distance themselves from the mess.

Speaking during a town hall meeting in Tamale in the Northern Region on Thursday, John Mahama said the NPP has messed up the country and must be shown the exit.

“Now, all those who contributed to the mess are now attempting to distance themselves as if they were not involved.

People have started claiming they were not in charge and that their voices weren’t heard, but they all played a part in the crisis, and none of them can evade responsibility. They all participated in cabinet meetings and collectively made decisions.”

“All of them ‘dey inside’, Jack Toronto and all his brothers, all of them are part of the mess we are going through”

“None of them can escape responsibility, none of them because they have all been a part of this. They all sat in cabinet together, they all took those decisions together. Anytime they were going to borrow from the Eurobond market, they approved it in cabinet”. he stated.

Mr Mahama has however assured that the next NDC administration if voted in the upcoming 2024 general elections, will work to turn around the economy.

“They must go home and learn their lessons. NDC is coming back by winning this election and we have the men and women that are going to restore this country’s economy and finances to a healthy condition,” he said.
