Vision FC and Okwawu United are set to clash for Super cup title

The 2024 Division One League Super Cup final will have Vision FC, a newly promoted Premier League team, competing against Okwahu United.

This year, the tournament was held in the Brong Ahafo Region for the first time and featured Vision FC, Young Apostles, and Basake Holy Stars.

They were joined by Okwahu United, Hohoe United, Techiman Heroes, Holy Stars, and Liberty Professionals, who were the second and third-place teams from their zones.

The Super Cup has always been popular and entertaining during the off-season.

The tournament includes the champions and runners-up from each of the three Division One League zones, plus the two best third-placed teams from these zones.

The teams were split into two groups of four. After the group stage, Okwahu United, Techiman Heroes, Young Apostles, and Vision FC advanced to the semi-finals.

In the semi-finals, Okwahu United played Techiman Heroes, while Vision FC and Young Apostles, both newly promoted to the Premier League, competed for the other spot in the final.

On Thursday, Okwahu United won 1-0 against Techiman Heroes.

Vision FC made it to the final after a 0-0 draw with Young Apostles, which was decided by a 4-3 penalty shootout.

All attention is now on Sunday’s final at Nana Kronamansah Park, where Vision FC and Okwahu United will compete for the trophy.

Vision FC has already secured their Premier League spot, and winning the Super Cup would boost their momentum for the upcoming season.

For Okwahu United, this could be a crucial moment to push for a Premier League return after more than a decade.
