1) U.S. man who underwent transplant of genetically modified pig’s heart dies barely two months after
The first person to receive a heart transplant from a pig has died, two months after the groundbreaking experiment, the Maryland hospital that performed the surgery announced Wednesday.
David Bennett, 57, died Tuesday at the University of Maryland Medical Center. Doctors didn’t give an exact cause of death, saying only that his condition had begun deteriorating several days earlier. After the Jan. 7 operation, Bennett’s son told The Associated Press his father knew there was no guarantee it would work.
2) Chinese who illegally operates ‘jackpot machines’ busted, at least 500 machines recovered
Police in Kumasi have arrested a Chinese for operating illegal analogue or non-digital machines, popularly called ‘jackpot machines’, for gaming or betting. The police seized at least 500 jackpot machines in a special exercise at Atasomanso, in Kumasi.
The police accompanied by officials of the Gaming Commission of Ghana (GCG) and journalists, stormed the house of Eric Wang, suspect, in the early hours of Wednesday, and confiscated ‘jackpot machines’, which contained coins -GHC 1.00 and 0.50.
Wang has been released on enquiry bail while the police have mounted a search for four other Chinese, who are on the run.
3) Apple launches 5G iPhone SE, and iPad Air, launches Mac Studio
Apple Inc on Tuesday launched a low cost 5G iPhone SE, the cheapest of its kind, that would directly compete with rivals in the mid-range smartphone market and give the world’s most valuable company a chance to woo consumers on a budget.
At the event, titled “Peek Performance”, Apple also introduced its fastest chipset, a brand new high-performance computer and brought nearly all of its devices on the 5G bandwagon.
4) Kanye West posts another bizarre poem ‘DEAD’ amid tensions with Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson
Kim Kardashian’s ex Kanye West shared his latest piece of writing on Tuesday, saying ‘no one wanted to tell me I was DEAD.’ Taking to Instagram, the 44-year-old rapper shared another bizarre poem which was titled ‘DEAD’.
The poem began: ‘No one wanted to tell me I was DEAD / And only people that would talk to me were in my head.’ At one point he appears to reference his 41-year-old estranged wife keeping the $60million Hidden Hills estate they once shared as he wrote: ‘My kids would dance for me in a home I once led.’

Ghana interim coach Otto Addo is expected to release his squad list for the upcoming doubleheader 2022 World Cup qualifying play-offs later this month. GhanaTalkRadio can exclusively reveal that the ex-Ghana international will hand debut invitations to eight players for the two matches.
New faces like Antoine Elorm Semenyo, Leeroy Owusu, Felix Afena-Gyan, Elisha Owusu amongst others will be seen in the Ghana team for the crucial tie. The Black Stars list is expected to be announced later this week.
