1) 26-year-old man reportedly butchered grandparents for opposing his newly found drinking habits

A 26-year-old man, Kojo Kyere, has allegedly butchered his grandparents. GhanaTalkRadio gathered that the suspect allegedly murdered the grandparents’ JK Amoah, 90, and Nana Amoah, 85, at Sunyani New-Town Extension in the Bono Region Friday morning, November 12, 2021.

It is alleged that the suspect, an epileptic, and father of one, was advised by the grandparents to avoid drinking. The suspect allegedly cut off the penis of his grandfather and also removed the tooth of the grandmother before he allegedly butchered them to death.

2) Netherlands set to impose partial lockdown to halt resurrecting COVID cases

The Netherlands will impose Western Europe’s first partial lockdown since the summer this weekend, in a bid to stop a surge in COVID-19 cases, Dutch broadcaster NOS said on Friday.

Bars, restaurants and non-essential stores will be ordered to close at 7 P.M. for at least three weeks starting Saturday, NOS said, citing government sources. People will be urged to work from home as much as possible, and no audiences will be allowed at sporting events in the coming weeks. Schools, theatres and cinemas would remain open.

3) All set and ready for the construction of of Keta Sea Port project – Transport Minister affirms

Minister of Transport, Kwaku Ofori Asiamah has revealed that feasibility study for the development of a new seaport in the Volta Region is complete and findings indicate, that the project is a feasible and viable investment.

The KETA Port Development Project, which will be carried out in Phases, needs the support of the private sector to thrive. To this end, the government is calling for private sector investment and expertise, to execute the project, which will come with a multi-purpose terminal, as part of the first phase. This was made known at a stakeholder engagement to meet potential investors for the project in Accra.

4) Tennis Nō 1 Novak Djokovic to kick off ATP Finals campaign against fresher Casper Ruud

Novak Djokovic will begin his campaign against Norwegian debutant Casper Ruud on Monday with the Serbian world number one aiming to match Roger Federer’s record of six ATP Finals titles.

The season-ending men’s event is played between the top eight men’s singles players and doubles teams and will be held in Turin, Italy with the final scheduled for Nov. 21. Djokovic, who won his fifth title in 2015 when he defeated Federer in the title clash, was drawn in the ‘Green Group’ alongside world number three Stefanos Tsitsipas, Russian Andrey Rublev and Ruud.
