1) Louis Vuitton set to increase product price tags on Wednesday

Louis Vuitton, LVMH’s top fashion brand, will raise prices globally on Wednesday as a result of increased manufacturing and transportation costs, a spokesperson for the French luxury goods company in China told Reuters.

The price increases will affect Louis Vuitton stores worldwide and cover leather goods, fashion accessories and perfumes, the spokesperson said on Tuesday. She did not give further details on the scale of the rises, beyond saying that they would vary depending on the product.

2) Police to hold mass burial for 300 unidentified bodies

The Ghana Police Hospital is set to embark on a mass burial for three Hundred (300) unidentified and unclaimed bodies. This is part of its routine measures to decongest the Hospital Mortuary.

According to the police, these unidentified and unclaimed bodies are made up of mostly paupers, unknown former patients, abandoned bodies, unidentified accident and crime victims. In a statement, the Police urged the General Public to contact the Pathology Department of Police Hospital for identification of the persons who might have not been seen for some time as part of the search.

3) India bans 54 Chinese apps

India has blocked access to 54 mobile apps, mainly Chinese but also including Singapore-based Sea Ltd’s Free Fire game, over security concerns, government sources said on Tuesday, a day after Sea shares sank 18% on a report of the ban.

India has banned a total of 321 apps since political tension first flared with China in 2020 following a border clash between the nations, leading the former to initially ban 59 Chinese apps, including TikTok.

4) Russia says it pulls back some of its troops, Ukraine and West want proof

Russia said on Tuesday some of its troops were returning to base after exercises near Ukraine and mocked Western warnings about a looming invasion, but NATO said it had yet to see any evidence of a de-escalation that could avert a military conflict.

Russia did not say how many units were being withdrawn, and how far, after a build-up of some 130,000 Russian troops to the north, east and south of Ukraine that has triggered one of the worst crises in relations with the West since the Cold War.

5) Brazil v Argentina World Cup qualifier ended after 5 minutes to be replayed

The World Cup qualifier between Brazil and Argentina in September that was suspended just minutes after kickoff when health officials ran on to the pitch must be replayed, football’s governing body FIFA said on Monday.

The match at NeoQuimica Arena in Sao Paulo was halted after five minutes when Brazilian health officials invaded the pitch to stop Argentina’s England-based players from playing, saying they had breached the country’s COVID-19 quarantine rules.

The officials said the Argentines had breached rules stating travellers who had been in the UK, South Africa or India during the previous two weeks were forbidden from entering Brazil unless they were citizens or had permanent residency.
