1) Father impregnates own deaf and dumb teenage daughter at Twifu Nkohunuho
A 45-year-old chainsaw operator, Albert Quansah is reported to have defiled and impregnated his 15-year-old daughter who is deaf and dumb at Twifu Nkohunuho in the Twifu Atti-Morkwa District of the Central Region. The mother of the victim, Madam Norah Abagah popularly known as Fatima, explained that the entire family travelled to Twifo Kayireku to observe a one-week celebration of their father in law who recently passed away.
She further explained that she later noticed some physical and behavioural changes in her 15-year-old daughter. So she began interrogating her daughter during which the latter revealed that her father forced and had sex with her during the one-week celebration of her grandfather. The suspect was said to have invited his daughter to his room, pushed her onto the bed, and forcibly had sex with the young girl who could not scream for help as she’s dumb.
2) Man mysteriously dies at Lagos airport after return from the U.S.
A 75-year-old man whose identity is yet unknown has died at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos State after returning from the US. According to reports, the man was found dead shortly after the Delta Air aircraft touched down and taxied to the avio bridge from where he was expected to disembark and move into the airport terminal. He was however unresponsive after efforts to wake him up to disembark from the plane failed.
He was certified dead by medical personnel and his body was deposited in a hospital morgue for his family members to pick. The cause of his death is not yet known.
3) Scientists look to extend human lives with new £1.2m muscle cells project
Tiny lab grown human muscle cells will be blasted into space in an experiment that could help people to live longer, healthier lives, scientists have said. The project titled MicroAge, is funded by UK Space Agency and will cost £1.2million
It will involve the launch of a capsule from Florida to the International Space Station on Wednesday, December 22. Lab-grown human muscle cells the size of a grain of rice have been put into small containers and once they are in space, they will be electrically stimulated to cause contractions in the muscle tissue, and the scientists will look to see what happens.
4) BTS becomes first artist to grace 11 GQ and Vogue Korea covers simultaneously
BTS became the first artist to appear on 11 covers of GQ Korea and Vogue Korea at the same time and they did it so stunningly. The World famous K-pop group has taken the charge to steal fans heart with their handsomeness as they adorned classy outfits by Louise Vuitton for the January issue of the magazines.
The fashion magazines unveiled its much-anticipated photoshoot on December 21.
The K-pop idols not only posed group photos for January’s issue but they also had their individual photo shoot. The magazine also extended an article in this regard in which it was stated, “It is unprecedented for an artist to decorate the covers of the media outlets at the same time and publish a total of 11 covers.”
5) Premier League to plough through festive schedule despite COVID surge
Premier League clubs have agreed to continue playing games scheduled over the festive period despite several fixtures being postponed due to a surge in COVID-19 cases, the league announced after a meeting between all teams on Monday. Ten Premier League games have been postponed this month due to outbreaks amid a busy schedule where teams are set to play three times between Boxing Day and Jan. 3.
The Premier League released a statement shortly after the meeting saying that a record 90 new COVID-19 cases were detected among players and staff in the past week, a significant increase from its total of 42 in the previous round on Dec. 6-12.
