The three white men convicted of chasing down and murdering a young Black man, Ahmaud Arbery, as he was out jogging in their suburban Georgia community, were found guilty on Tuesday of committing federal hate crimes and other offenses in the 2020 killing.

A predominantly white jury deliberated for about four hours over two days before returning the verdict against Travis McMichael, 36, his father, former police officer Gregory McMichael, 66, and a neighbor, William “Roddie” Bryan, 52, in U.S. District Court in Brunswick, Georgia.

2) Report if mudy water flows exceed 15 seconds − GWCL

The Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) has advised the general public to report at its district offices across the country if bleached water flows through their taps for more than 15 seconds.

The Public Relations Officer of the company, Stanley Martey who made this public announcement, said repair works often spatter mud on pipelines which slip through the lines and render the water unwholesome for drinking.

As a result, the lines are flashed to ensure that the mud and other sediments are removed. The process however, requires the use of disinfectants or chemicals which render the water cloudy.

3) FAA says 5G could impact radio altimeters on most Boeing 737s

U.S. regulators are warning that 5G wireless operations could affect radio altimeters in most Boeing 737 aircraft and impact crew workload and airplane landings, according to a government notice posted online on Wednesday.

The Federal Aviation Administration’s directive affects Boeing’s 737s, except its 200 and 200-c series, the Federal Register notice said.

It added that their “radio altimeters cannot be relied upon to perform their intended function if they experience interference from wireless broadband operations in the 3.7-3.98 GHz frequency band (5G C-Band).”

4) Idris Elba shifting focus from acting to music career

Idris Elba highlights his intentions to ‘lean away’ from acting in favor of a more fruitful career in music

Idris Elba recently shed some light on his career plans and admitted that he’s been hard at work, trying to ‘lean away’ from acting, in favour of a music career. Elba weighed in on it all while speaking to Vanity Fair and began by announcing his plans for the music world.

“I’ve dealt with the internal struggle of that over the years. So now I’m at peace and I’ve chosen: This is what I’m doing, and I’m going to do it. Some will love it and some will hate it,” he said.

5) Zverev expelled from Acapulco for assault on umpire’s chair after doubles loss

Alexander Zverev was kicked out of the ATP 500 tournament in Acapulco, Mexico, for “unsportsmanlike conduct” after his doubles match, the men’s tour said on Wednesday, with the German later apologising for his behaviour.

Zverev, partnering Brazilian tennis player Marcelo Melo in doubles, came perilously close to hitting umpire Alessandro Germani when he repeatedly assaulted the umpire’s chair with his racquet after a 6-2 4-6 (10-6) defeat to the British-Finn pair of Lloyd Glasspool and Harri Heliovaara. Zverev said he regretted his behaviour and apologised for the incident.
