1) UPSA rusticate students over allegations of ‘threesome’ sexual escaped

The University of Professional Studies Accra (UPSA) has rusticated two female resident students for their alleged involvement in a “threesome” with a non-resident male. The University, in a statement dated November 23, 2021, said the female students fondled themselves “in acts described as Lesbianism” during their sexual adventure.

It noted that the sexual act of the students was not in conformity with provisions in the University’s handbook thus warranting their dismissal from the UPSA Hostel.

2) No need to rush for your cards, we’re now present in all regions – NIA

Persons worried about getting their Ghana Cards have been urged to exercise patience since there are enough outlets in localities to ensure that they are all served. This, according to the National Identification Authority, is because it has set up over 300 centers across the country, assuring citizens that there is no need to be in a hurry, reports.

Earlier, there had been reports that many of the NIA centers were seeing huge numbers of applicants, with many of them struggling to register for the cards. Abudu Abdul-Ganiyu, the Acting Head of Corporate Affairs of the NIA, explained that permanent regional and districts offices have been opened across the country to make up for these challenges.

3) Real Madrid star Benzema found guilty, sentenced in sex tape trial

France and Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema was found guilty of complicity in the attempted blackmail of a former international team mate over a sex tape on Wednesday and sentenced to a one-year suspended jail term.

He was also fined 75,000 euros ($84,170). Benzema’s lawyer said the player would appeal against the verdict. Benzema, who had denied any wrongdoing, was not in the court in Versailles. He is due to play for the Spanish club against Moldovan side Sheriff Tiraspol later in the day.

4) Reports reveal Jeffrey Epstein’s last phone call was to his Belarusian girlfriend, just before his death

On the evening of August 10, 2019, Epstein was assisted by a unit manager at the Manhattan Detention Center in making a ‘social’ phone call, The New York Times reported. The call was not properly logged and the unit manager said that when he asked Epstein who he was calling, Epstein said it was his mother even though his mum has been dead since 2004.

Prison records have now revealed the call was actually to his Belarusian girlfriend Katyna Shuliak, 30, and lasted about 15 minutes. Epstein helped put Shuliak through dental school. He gave no indication during the call that he was going to commit suicide, according to the Times. The court document noted that ‘he did not appear to be in any distress at this time’ and even said that he was living a ‘wonderful life’ despite being on suicide watch.

5) Bundesliga turns deaf ears to stoppage calls amid soaring COVID cases in Germany

The German Football League (DFL) on Wednesday rejected a call to halt the Bundesliga season for several weeks because of a sharp rise in COVID-19 cases in the country. The DFL, which runs the top two Bundesliga divisions, was responding to a call from second-tier club Erzgebirge Aue President, Helge Leonhardt, to stop play until December.

Leonhardt said football needed to be a role model and put people’s safety first to reduce the risk of further infections and decrease the burden on the German health system.
