WAEC commences the 2024 WASSCE with over 460,000 candidates nationwide in Ghana

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) is set to begin the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for school candidates on Monday, August 19, 2024.

The exams will include both practical and theory papers, concluding on Friday, September 20, 2024.

This follows the Visual Art Project work, which was completed from August 5 to 16, 2024.

A total of 460,611 candidates, consisting of 212,954 males and 247,657 females from 1,003 schools, are expected to participate.

This marks a 2.66% increase from the 448,674 candidates in 2023. The exams will be held at 1,000 centers nationwide.

WAEC has assured that rigorous security measures are in place to ensure the smooth conduct of the examination.
