Two constituency executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Walewale, North-East Region, have been suspended with immediate effect due to what the party describes as gross misconduct.

The suspended individuals, along with another party member, have been instructed to hand over all party materials in their possession as an investigation into their actions begins.

The suspension was announced in a letter signed by Regional Chairman Fuseini Nurudeen and comes after a recent High Court ruling in Tamale ordered a re-run of the Walewale constituency parliamentary primary.

The court found that the previous election had been compromised by irregularities such as impersonation and over-voting.
