The Electoral Commission (EC) has reassured the National Democratic Congress (NDC) that it remains open to further discussions on all matters concerning the 2024 voter register.
The NDC voiced concerns after receiving the provisional voter register and organized a protest titled “Enough is Enough” on Tuesday, September 17, calling for a forensic audit of the register.

Among other allegations, the NDC claimed that over 243,000 illegal names were included in the list of transferred voters.
During the protest, the NDC’s National Chairman, John Asiedu Nketia, submitted a formal petition at the EC’s head office requesting the audit.
In response, the EC affirmed its commitment to ongoing dialogue and to improving the voter register in preparation for the December 7 general elections.
In a statement signed by Deputy Chairman Samuel Tettey, the EC stated, “We assure the NDC and all stakeholders of our strong commitment to producing a credible and accurate final register ahead of the December 2024 elections.”
Below is the EC’s statement.
