Sophia Akuffo, a distinguished fellow at the Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA), has underscored the necessity of presidential debates for the 2024 general elections.
She argues that the debates will offer a unique platform for candidates to present their policies in detail, showcasing their credibility and competence.
Akuffo stated, “As we address our challenges, we need vision, courage, and wisdom to shape our shared future.
This underscores the importance of the debates in revealing the candidates’ vision, competence, and capacity to tackle our national issues.”
The IEA has scheduled the debates for October and November, providing a forum for selected presidential candidates and their running mates to engage before the December 7 elections.
Madam Sophia Akuffo stated that the debate has been designed to establish the credibility and competence of the candidates, enabling voters to make informed decisions at the polls.
