The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is confident that its Flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, will win all 18 constituencies in the Northern Region in the upcoming presidential election.

The party believes Mahama is a formidable opponent to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, particularly in the Northern Region, where they anticipate strong support.
Haruna Iddrisu, MP for Tamale South, emphasized that the NDC is addressing grassroots-level internal disputes that could affect the parliamentary elections, focusing on unity as election day approaches.
“We believe that our worst performance for His Excellency John Dramani Mahama should be a minimum of 14 seats. We must strive to win every seat in the Northern Region, and with the presidential election, President Mahama should secure victory in all 18 constituencies. That is achievable.
“I have said that the battleground starts in Tamale, and the larger Tamale must produce a decisive verdict to lead the rest of the region. I have visited various parts of the country, including Binduri in the Upper East Region, which Mahama lost but is recoverable.
“I’ve also been to the Upper West Region, specifically the Lambussie and Nandom areas, and I am optimistic that we can regain those constituencies. Dr. Titus Beyuo is performing exceptionally well in Lambussie.
“There were some internal disagreements within the NDC that could potentially impact the parliamentary elections, but not the presidential election,” he stated.
Meanwhile, John Mahama has commenced a five-day campaign tour of the Northern Region, while his running mate, Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, has started a four-day campaign tour in the Ashanti Region.
