Majority Chief Whip and Member of Parliament for Nsawam-Adoagyiri, Frank Annoh-Dompreh, has firmly stated that the Majority Caucus will take all necessary actions to defend their position and maintain control of the majority in the Parliamentary Chamber.

His remarks come in the midst of heightened tensions between the Majority and Minority over seating arrangements and ongoing political disputes.

Responding to allegations by Minority Chief Whip, Governs Kwame Agbodza, who accused him of being “smuggled” into the Chamber ahead of a crucial session, Annoh-Dompreh dismissed the claims as unfounded.

He emphasized that the Majority will not allow themselves to be sidelined and will defend their position in Parliament.

“We will do everything necessary to defend ourselves and ensure that they do not overrun us,” Annoh-Dompreh declared during an interview on Channel One TV on Tuesday, October 22.

He clarified that his early arrival in Parliament was routine and that he entered the Chamber through standard procedures.

He added that he complied with security instructions to briefly exit the Chamber for cleaning before the session began.

“There are lessons he needs to learn,” Annoh-Dompreh warned Agbodza. “He should be cautious with his accusations. It’s my responsibility to ensure everything runs smoothly.”

These heated exchanges come at a critical time as both the Majority and Minority vie for control amid legal challenges over parliamentary seats.

With the Speaker’s recent declaration of four vacant seats and a Supreme Court intervention, the balance of power in Parliament remains uncertain.

Annoh-Dompreh’s statements reflect the Majority’s determination to hold their ground and continue their work despite growing political tensions.

As Parliament prepares for a potentially confrontational session, heightened security underscores the high stakes involved.
