The management of Ghana International School (GIS) has vowed to defend its property against recent attempts by individuals to claim parts of the school’s land.

Reports indicate that some individuals tried to deliver construction materials to the school’s premises, claiming ownership of the land.

The school notified the Cantonments Police, leading to an intervention by both the school’s security and the police, who prevented the attempted takeover.

In an interview with Citi News, Principal and Head of Schools, Frank Amponsah Mensah, reaffirmed the school’s commitment to resisting any encroachment on its property.

“We don’t know if he is claiming the property for himself or for someone else, but why would you attempt to take possession of property at 2 am?

At that hour, everyone should be asleep unless you’re a security guard or have malicious intent,” he said.

“You can’t come to someone’s property, open the gates, and start placing construction materials there, then suggest that if there’s an issue, the owner should go to the police.”

Additionally, the Office of the President has denied claims that Chief Superintendent Ibrahim Opoku of the VVIP Unit is involved in a land dispute with Ghana International School.
