Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, has reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring top-tier security for the 2024 general elections.

He emphasized that the Police administration will station officers at all polling centers nationwide.
Dr. Dampare made these remarks during a speech at the Electoral Commission (EC) headquarters in Accra on Monday, August 19.
He said “Since the commencement of the whole election process, we will be in and out of this place all in the spirit of engagement, in the spirit of working together to ensure that from the security point of view, there is peace, security, law and order before, during, and beyond the elections.
“We want to assure all and sundry that we are poised for what is ahead,”
Dr. Dampare also called on stakeholders, including political parties, to fulfill their responsibilities to ensure a peaceful election.
