Nana Kwame Bediako, leader of the New Force Movement and popularly known as Cheddar, has called on Ghanaians to recognize the Western Region’s potential, envisioning it as the future “Texas of Africa.”
This bold vision underscores the region’s capacity for significant economic growth and development.

Cheddar’s proposal emphasizes harnessing the Western Region’s rich natural resources, strategic location, and untapped potential.
By drawing a comparison to Texas, renowned for its strong energy sector and economic vitality, Cheddar seeks to inspire a similar transformative impact in the Western Region.
“I believe that this region is going to become the Texas of Africa. This is where we are going to have the most industrial plants with the most minerals, the, most agro products to be processes and it is right next to the coast.”
“We can supply Africa and even supply the world. We have to take the western region very serious,” he said when he launched his manifesto in Accra on Sunday.
