The Western Region secured their first title in the fourth edition of the 2024 KGL Inter-Regional U-17 Colts Championship with a thrilling 2-1 comeback victory over the Eastern Region.

Goals from Stephen Cobbinah and Benedict Afful at the Ghanaman Soccer Center of Excellence on Thursday sealed the win.
The game started off strong, with the Eastern Region taking control through smart tactics.
Shaibu Abubakar scored a brilliant goal in the 17th minute to put Eastern Region in the lead.
Western Region then focused on finding an equalizer, keeping their attack active.
The Western Region team, dressed in green, kept pushing hard against the leading team and eventually earned a penalty in the 28th minute. They confidently scored, tying the game.
After halftime, both teams played well but missed some chances to score in the early minutes.
Just when it seemed like the match would go into extra time, Benedict Afful scored the winning goal for the Western Region. The game ended 2-1 in their favor.
In another match, the Northern Region beat the Volta Region 1-0 to take third place in the tournament.
Musa Ahmed Sharafadean from the Northern Region was named the best player of the tournament, scoring six goals and winning three man-of-the-match awards.
Bless Amedorme from the Volta Region was named the best goalkeeper of the tournament.
Nii Sarpei, Programmes Manager at KGL Foundation, told GNA Sports that the championship is part of their goal to improve football in Ghana.
He was pleased with the strong partnership between the GFA and KGL Foundation and praised the GFA for helping young footballers who could bring future victories to Ghana.
