World Shoe Launches in Accra, Pioneering a Global Mission to Eradicate Shoelessness
World Shoe, a global brand dedicated to redefining the purpose of style and the transformative power of footwear, officially launched on December 13, 2024, at Zinnia Events Centre, Cantonments, Accra.
This milestone event highlighted the company’s vision of a world free from shoelessness by delivering high-quality, durable footwear to people everywhere.
Founder Manny Ohonme delivered an inspiring speech during the launch, emphasizing World Shoe’s mission and unwavering commitment to creating a lasting impact on millions of lives worldwide.
At the launch, Manny Ohonme, the visionary founder of World Shoe, shared the deeply personal story behind the company’s inception. Born in Nigeria, Manny’s childhood was marked by poverty and limited access to basic resources.
However, a simple pair of shoes he won from a contest changed his life and inspired him to create World Shoe, a company dedicated to ensuring that every child, regardless of their background, has access to the same opportunity he received.
Manny’s heartfelt message served as a reminder of the profound impact that something as simple as a pair of shoes can have on a child’s dream and future.
“I believe that every child deserves the opportunity to walk towards their dreams. World Shoe is more than just a business; it’s a movement committed to ensuring that no child’s future is limited by something as basic as not having shoes,” said Manny Ohonme.
Manny also highlighted the company’s broader vision for creating positive change and its commitment to empowering local communities in Ghana, including the creation of over 200 jobs at the company’s factory at Akosombo.
He emphasized the company’s focus on sustainability, innovation, and local economic growth, which aligns with Ghana’s own aspirations for a prosperous and inclusive future.
“We are committed to creating economic opportunities in Ghana and across Africa, and we are proud of the tangible impact we have already made,” said Kojo Taylor, World Shoe Limited President for Ghana.
“World Shoe is not just about providing shoes; it’s about empowering communities and ensuring that everyone has access to the tools they need to succeed.”
World Shoe is an innovative footwear that goes beyond innovation to providing employment, education and health opportunities to communities working near the manufacturing factory at Akosombo.
The footwear incorporates antibacterial agents to prevent the growth of harmful bacteria, ensuring a healthier environment for the feet.
Additionally, the shoe is made with biodegradable EVA foam to reduce waste and minimize environmental impact. This eco-friendly design makes World Shoe not only a comfortable and durable choice but also a responsible one.
The product is available in five (5) colours, sunshine, Natural, Pink, White and Black. With its innovative footwear and being the first-ever EVA footwear factory in Ghana, World Shoe is committed to world changing style that makes a long-lasting impression and impact in the lives of millions around the World by accelerating prosperity.
