Richard Ahiagbah, the Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), is in stable condition and responding to treatment following a serious accident near Konongo, the party has confirmed.

The incident occurred early Saturday morning on the Kumasi-Accra highway near Aduapompo while Ahiagbah was driving to Kumasi for a scheduled program.
Preliminary reports indicate that Ahiagbah was the sole occupant of his vehicle when it collided with an articulated truck.
In a statement dated Sunday, July 28, the General Secretary of the NPP, Justin Kodua Frimpong, said, “Mr. Ahiagbah is in a stable condition and is responding positively to treatment. The attending doctors have advised limiting visitors to ensure Mr. Ahiagbah receives adequate rest during his recovery.”
The NPP expressed its sincere gratitude to Ghanaians for their outpouring of prayers and well wishes for its Communications Director.

On Sunday, Justin Kodua Frimpong and other party executives visited Richard Ahiagbah at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), where he is receiving treatment.
