The former Constituency Chairman of Afigya Kwabere South for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, widely known as Chairman Coka, has urged Ghanaians to prioritize peace during the upcoming December 7 elections.

Speaking at a church service in the Afigya Kwabere South Constituency on Friday, November 29, 2024, Chairman Coka emphasized the importance of respect and civility throughout the electoral process, calling for all citizens to work together to ensure a peaceful and orderly election.
“We’re not going to fight; we’re not going to insult each other. We’re going to exercise our Kokromoti power (right to vote),” he said, urging all eligible voters to participate responsibly.
Chairman Coka also reminded citizens that electoral commission officers are part of their communities and should be treated with the utmost respect.
“Let’s give the needed respect to the regulations and the officers at the various polling stations. They are our relatives, friends, husbands, and wives,” he added.
His appeal for peace comes at a crucial moment in Ghana’s democratic journey, as the nation prepares for its fifth presidential succession since the return to multi-party democracy in 1992.
This year’s elections are anticipated to be highly competitive, with the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) facing a strong challenge from the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Chairman Coka’s message underscores the importance of unity, respect, and peaceful coexistence as Ghanaians head to the polls.
