Legal practitioner Elorm Ama Governor and over nine other protesters have been arrested by police during a demonstration organized by the Democracy Hub in response to the economic crisis.

Reports indicate that the protesters were standing near the 37 lorry station when they were apprehended.

Earlier, more than 20 demonstrators were also arrested for various infractions, including blocking roads and toppling police barriers during protests at the 37 Roundabout in Accra.

The Democracy Hub is conducting a three-day protest against the government, which began on Saturday, September 21, and is set to conclude on Monday, September 23.

Among their demands, the group is urging the government to take immediate action to address illegal mining, which has severely impacted major river bodies across the country.

Although they initially planned to march to the Jubilee House to present their petition, the Ghana Police Service intervened, labeling the area a security zone.
