Farouk Aliu Mahama, Chairman of the Government Assurances Committee, has urged the government to intensify efforts to tackle the recent electricity supply challenges nationwide.
While acknowledging the commendable 88.75% electricity coverage, Mahama stressed the need for sustained engagement and proactive measures to ensure a stable and reliable power supply for all citizens.

In a Facebook post on Monday, May 6, the Member of Parliament for Yendi commended the Minister of Energy, Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh, for his appearance before the committee on Friday, May 3.
The committee discussed the electricity situation, and Mahama praised the government’s efforts to alleviate the recent power crisis, recognizing the strategies put in place to mitigate the challenges.
Mahama emphasized that while achieving 88.75% electricity coverage is a significant accomplishment, more needs to be done to address the technical challenges affecting electricity supply in some parts of the country.
He encouraged continued engagement and proactive measures to ensure a stable and reliable power supply nationwide.
