The Electoral Commission (EC) has warned its officials that it will take strict action against anyone found compromising their integrity during the ongoing elections.
This warning follows the arrest of an EC official, Dery Joseph, in Kintampo South, Bono East Region, for electoral violations.

The suspect is under investigation for distributing approximately 15 ballots to voters at the Ampesika Bayere polling station, where the first presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, was omitted.
Benjamin Bano-Bio, the Director of Electoral Services at the EC, issued the warning during the Commission’s second media briefing, commending other EC officials for their professionalism.
“Our officials are performing professionally, except for one, the Kintamapo ballot issuer and that person has been brought to book.
Voting is continuing progressively, we call upon all our officials that the commission will not leave any stone unturned to ensure that the right thing is done at all levels and that any officials who will compromise him/herself, will be dealt with according to the full rigours of the law and so they all must take note, and continue to perform their duties professionally.”
