The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) has warned the public against a surge in recruitment scams falsely linked to the agency, stating it has not opened any hiring process.

The warning comes amid recurring reports in Ghana of job scams targeting unemployed youth, often using the names of state institutions to gain credibility.

However, in a statement on April 16, NACOC said it had “not commenced any recruitment exercise” and distanced itself from individuals and groups claiming to offer jobs on its behalf.

“The Commission has become aware of false claims by individuals and groups posing as agents and promising employment opportunities within NACOC,” the statement said.

“NACOC has not authorised, contracted, or engaged any person or organisation to recruit on its behalf.”

The agency cautioned the public to be wary of requests for payments or personal information tied to such fraudulent offers, stressing that no legitimate recruitment would involve such demands.

“The public is strongly advised not to pay money or provide personal details to anyone claiming to offer recruitment into the Commission,” NACOC said, adding that “persons involved in such fraudulent activities will be arrested and prosecuted.”
