GNFS recovers 11 year Old boy that drowned at Adenta Aviation

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has recovered the body of an 11-year-old boy who drowned at Adenta Aviation in the Greater Accra Region.

The deceased, identified as Samuel Awalime, was retrieved following a search and recovery operation led by personnel from the Adenta Fire Station.


According to the GNFS, firefighters responded after receiving reports of the drowning incident and immediately commenced efforts to locate the victim.

The July 13 operation was led by DO III Obosu, who coordinated the rescue team alongside other emergency response agencies that had converged at the scene.

The Service said personnel from the various agencies worked together in a coordinated search and recovery exercise, which lasted several hours before the victim’s body was eventually recovered.

Following the recovery, the body of Samuel Awalime was handed over to the Adenta Police Division to facilitate further investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The Ghana National Fire Service has not disclosed the events that led to the drowning, as police continue their investigations.
