A chilling incident has unfolded in Ahwenamo, near Nsuobiri in the Upper West Akim District of the Eastern Region, where a farmer, identified as Brother Amenyor, has been accused of defiling and murdering his stepdaughter.

The victim, a minor, was allegedly lured to a farm by the suspect, who had a history of sexually abusing her.

According to Rainbow Radio’s Prince Collins Bening, the farmer and his two brothers carried out the heinous crime, with the suspect using a cutlass to attack the girl, leading to her death.

The family of the deceased claims that the suspect intended to use their daughter for money ritual purposes.

The incident came to light when a palm wine tapper discovered the suspect with bloodstains on his cutlass and raised an alarm.

The suspect attempted to cover up the crime by claiming he had killed an animal, but the palm tapper’s suspicions led to further investigation, revealing human bloodstains.

The minor had been fetching water with friends when the stepfather confronted her and forced her to accompany him to the farm.

She screamed for help, warning that the stepfather intended to harm her. The other children rushed home to report the incident, and a group of residents hurried to the farm, where they discovered the minor’s mutilated body, with vital parts, including her head and eyes, severed.

The suspects are currently in police custody, assisting with the investigation. The police have completed an autopsy, and the minor’s remains have been returned to the family.

The community is reeling in shock, and the incident has sparked outrage over the alleged abuse and murder of the young girl.
