The Chief Executive Officer of MTN Ghana, Stephen Blewett, has identified persistent fibre cuts as a major operational challenge affecting service delivery and customer experience.
According to him, the impact of these disruptions is significant, revealing that about 157 network sites were recently affected due to fibre damage.
Mr Blewett stressed that the recurring cuts continue to undermine network stability and reliability.
He explained that while customers may experience network downtime at specific locations, the problem often extends beyond a single site due to the structure of MTN’s network system.
The MTN Ghana CEO warned that unless the issue of frequent fibre cuts is addressed, it will continue to pose a serious threat to seamless service delivery across the network.
“it’s not really just talking about cutting fibre to someone’s home. When you cut fibre, you bring down all those sites, and that’s problematic. So the experience is bad. So we have to proactively manage that, ” he said.
