The Medical Laboratory Professional Workers’ Union (MELPWU) says its members have resumed duties at the Central Laboratory of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.
The union says the decision follows the appointment of the hospital’s Director of Pharmacy, Dr. Charles Ofei-Palm, as acting head of the laboratory pending a crucial meeting scheduled for Tuesday, May 12.
The Chairman of MELPWU- Korle Bu chapter, John Kofi Nakoja, said the union hopes to reach a final resolution on the ongoing leadership dispute
The newly appointed acting head of the Korle Bu Central laboratory, Dr. Charles Nii Kwade Ofei-Palm, while confirming his appointment, said he would serve as a bridge between the two factions to help resolve the issue permanently.
