The Ministry of Education has reaffirmed its commitment to raising learning outcomes and bridging gaps in performance across Ghanaian schools.

Speaking at a stakeholder engagement, Deputy Minister of Education Dr. Clement Apaak said government is moving beyond access to focus on the quality of teaching and learning in classrooms.

The shift will be driven in part by the National Schools Awards, an initiative under the Ghana Accountability for Learning Outcomes Project, GALOP.

GALOP is designed to strengthen school management, teacher effectiveness, and student performance, with a special focus on reducing inequalities between underperforming and high-achieving schools.

The Ministry says the awards will recognize schools that demonstrate measurable improvements in learning outcomes, leadership, and innovation.
